[They had a theory going. If the Soul knows Sans and Flowey, and Flowey knows Sans too, then maybe the Soul has a connection to wherever Sans used to live and Flowey comes from the same place...? However that would even work. They don't like thinking of the Soul as anything more than a tool, and the more they learn about it the more unsettling it becomes. If it can come from somewhere else and know other people, then they have to start asking how it came to be.
Unfortunately, that whole theory goes bust when Flowey keeps talking. Their indifferent mask wavers—at that final name, especially. A spike of emotion akin to a sharp intake of breath.
